1. Acceptance of these terms
By using the FileLever website, downloading the software, using the desktop app, or submitting support or business inquiries, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy published on this site.
2. What FileLever provides
FileLever is a desktop software product and marketing website focused on local-first file management workflows such as folder comparison, copy or update sync, optional mirror mode, exact duplicate review, large file review, exclusions, and related cleanup workflows. Some pages may also describe planned or future features that are not yet available in the current release.
Unless a page or purchase flow says otherwise, features, packaging, and availability may change over time.
3. Personal-use license and business licensing
Subject to these Terms, FileLever grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use the software for your own personal, non-commercial use.
The personal-use license does not permit business, commercial, professional, or organizational use. Business use includes use on behalf of, for the benefit of, or in connection with a company, sole proprietorship, partnership, nonprofit, government body, school, or other organization; use for client work; or use as part of paid or revenue-generating activities.
If you want to use FileLever for any business or organizational purpose, contact FileLever before using it to request the necessary commercial license or written permission. Downloading the software, making a voluntary support payment, or receiving support does not by itself grant any business-use rights. Any separate written licensing agreement with FileLever will control if it conflicts with these Terms.
You may use FileLever only in compliance with applicable law.
You may not use the website or software to:
- Interfere with the site, downloads, payment flows, or infrastructure
- Upload or submit malicious code, spam, or abusive messages
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or release assets
- Misrepresent your identity during support, payment, or business interactions
- Use FileLever in a way that violates another person's rights or data
4. Software use and user responsibility
FileLever is intended to help you inspect file changes before taking action, but it cannot replace good judgment, backups, or careful review. You are responsible for confirming source and target paths, reviewing delete, overwrite, and duplicate cleanup previews, checking platform-specific installers, and keeping backups of important data.
If you use sync, mirror, exclusions, large file cleanup, delete, or duplicate cleanup workflows on important data or external drives, you should verify the results and maintain your own backup strategy.
5. Downloads, third-party hosting, and links
Public builds may be distributed through GitHub Releases or other third-party hosting services. FileLever may also link to payment providers, documentation tools, or other external pages. We do not control those third-party properties, and their own terms, privacy practices, uptime, and security practices apply once you leave the FileLever site.
6. Payments and voluntary support
If you choose to support FileLever, the payment is processed by the provider selected at checkout, Dodo Payments. FileLever does not collect your card, bank, or UPI credentials on this site.
Support payments help fund development, release signing, packaging, maintenance, and future improvements, but they do not by themselves guarantee any particular feature, roadmap date, response time, or business relationship unless stated separately in writing.
7. Intellectual property
The FileLever website, branding, copy, layout, and software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except where a separate license applies, your use of the site and software does not transfer ownership of those rights to you.
8. Warranty disclaimer
FileLever is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not guarantee that the website, downloads, or software will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every workflow.
In particular, file operations can carry risk if you choose incorrect paths, approve unexpected deletions, remove the wrong duplicate or large file, work without backups, or use the software in environments with unusual filesystem behavior.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FileLever will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, lost profits, lost business, downtime, or corruption of files arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website or software.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination and suspension
We may suspend or restrict access to parts of the website or contact workflows if we reasonably believe there is abuse, fraud, spam, security risk, legal exposure, or misuse of the service.
You may stop using FileLever at any time by leaving the site and uninstalling the desktop app.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as FileLever evolves. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the website or software after the update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
